Question 1

How do the Family Legacy Plan, vault, actions, and handoff fit together?

Accepted Answer

Start with the Family Legacy Plan to describe what your family is building and what matters most. Use the private vault to organize the context behind that plan, turn intentions into a short Actions Checklist, and prepare a professional handoff when a qualified advisor needs to help with a decision. Each part supports the next; none of them replaces professional advice, legal documents, regulated advice, or execution.

Question 2

Who can start a Family Legacy Plan?

Accepted Answer

Any family can begin, whether you are still building, making changes, or simply trying to get organized. You do not need a large portfolio, a perfect balance sheet, or all the answers. Start with the people, responsibilities, hopes, and resources already on your family’s table.

Question 3

What is a Family Legacy Plan?

Accepted Answer

It is a living family map: what you are building, who it is for, what needs attention next, and which questions belong with a qualified professional. It is a planning companion—not a finished legal document, tax plan, investment recommendation, custody arrangement, or promise that one tool can solve every decision.

Question 4

What is the private household vault for?

Accepted Answer

The vault is a private place to organize the context behind your plan: important details, family notes, documents, and information you may want to prepare before a professional conversation. Add only what your household is comfortable keeping there, review who should see it, and use it to make the next conversation clearer. It is not a bank, brokerage account, trust, legal document repository, or substitute for secure custody of assets.

Question 5

How should we think about privacy and sharing?

Accepted Answer

CommonHeir is designed around intentional sharing. Organize household context in the vault, decide what is useful for a specific conversation, and share a prepared handoff rather than treating every detail as public or sending everything to everyone. Your family remains responsible for deciding what to share and for following any privacy, security, or professional requirements that apply to your information.

Question 6

What does the Actions Checklist help us do?

Accepted Answer

It turns a family conversation into a small set of doable tasks—such as gathering a document, scheduling a conversation, or writing down a question for an advisor. Use progress to keep the plan visible over time. The goal is steady movement, not a stressful one-time project.

Question 7

How does a professional handoff work?

Accepted Answer

Bring the relevant parts of your family map, organized context, and questions you want answered. A prepared handoff helps a qualified attorney, tax professional, investment professional, or custodian spend less time reconstructing the story and more time helping with the decision in front of you. The professional—not CommonHeir—decides what advice, documents, products, or transactions are appropriate, and you decide what to share.

Question 8

Does CommonHeir provide legal or tax advice?

Accepted Answer

No. CommonHeir does not provide legal or tax advice, draft or interpret legal documents, determine tax treatment, or tell you which structure to use. Use the plan to organize your context and prepare questions, then take decisions to the appropriately qualified attorney or tax professional for advice specific to your family.

Question 9

Does CommonHeir choose investments or hold our assets?

Accepted Answer

No. CommonHeir does not provide investment advice, recommend securities or allocations, manage money, take custody of assets, open accounts, or execute transactions. A qualified investment professional and the custodian you choose make regulated decisions and handle assets under their own agreements and responsibilities.

Question 10

What is the best way to get started?

Accepted Answer

Start with the Family Legacy Plan and choose one conversation or action that feels useful now. You can add context to the private vault, keep the next steps visible, and prepare a handoff when you are ready for qualified professional help. You can also read the learning guide first if you want a little more language for the conversation.
